Event : Diwali Celebration

Date : 27-10-2019

Raksha bandhan is the celebration of bonding between a brother and a sister and also for the people who take the oath of protecting each other for their life time. It is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Shravan according to the Hindu mythology. This year it was celebrated on 15th of August all over India and outside as well.Famously known as “The Festival of Lights”, Diwali is celebrated on the day of new moon, when the sky is at its darkest, in the month of “KARTIK” to mark the victory of “LORD RAMA” over the ten headed king of LANKA, “RAVANA”. It is celebrated by all the Indians, very gracefully and beautifully, no matter where they are on this auspicious day.

It is one of the favorite festivals for all, specifically for children. They love wearing new clothes and bursting crackers the most apart from lighting lamps, making rangoli and decorating their house completely with flowers and other house decorating ornaments. And last but not the least, special delicacies and variety of sweets are the best part of Diwali celebration.

Similar was the scenario on the day of Diwali celebration in the premises of Saaransh foundation. All the children as well as their mentors enjoyed taking part in different activities related to Diwali decorations. Our vocational class (Pahchan) children showed their creativity by making “Diyas” and “Vases” using white cement and coloured and decorated them beautifully. Some of the students of class Beethoven and Picasso made colourful “Rangoli” while other children made mesmerizing “Torans”. Students of class Tagore and Einstein made “Diyas” out of colour papers and playing dough, colourful “Rangoli” on board and pretty “Toran” out of waste plastic bottles. On the day of Diwali celebration, we could see only smile on every face and creativity all over the campus of Saaransh Foundation: “A Happy Place”.
