Ms Manobina Chakraborty FRSA is an Inclusive Education Specialist with overall professional experience of twenty years. She currently leads the very dedicated team of special educators, therapists, and psychologists in Saaransh Foundation. Ms Chakraborty is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London.
Ms Chakraborty started her career as a journalist with one of the most reputed media groups in India, but after a successful stint there, she realized that her true calling lay in the field of education. She moved to the UK and pursued professional studies on Inclusive Education, Special Educational Needs and Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders and equipped herself with the certification of Counselling Skills. She also worked in the Autism Unit of a century old secondary school in Scotland for about three years and contributed to their Curriculum for Excellence venture. She did several on-the-job professional courses including Child Behaviour, Crisis Management, Physical Intervention, Health and well-being of the children and young people with Autism etc. Ms Chakraborty is certified in teaching children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), especially those who have difficulties in reading and writing (Dyslexia) from the University of London.
Her close association with the UK-based renowned international organizations keeps her up to date with the latest research-based methodologies to cater to the needs of differently-abled children. She is a registered play therapist for children with special needs, and a member of National Association for Play Therapy India.
Her dedicated efforts towards the development of children and young people received recognition when she was honoured by the Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Award in 2016 for her contribution in Education in Gujarat, India. Ms Chakraborty believes that working for the development of the children of Saaransh Foundation makes her existence truly meaningful.
