The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked around the world annually on 3 December, as per the United Nations’ General Assembly resolution 47/3 of 14 October 1992, to promote awareness and mobilize support for critical issues pertaining to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society. Saaransh Foundation observed this day with the same motto.
“Children with disabilities are like butterflies with a broken wing. They are just as beautiful as all others, but they need help to spread their wings.”
In an endeavour to generate that help we had a special assembly for the DPS Gandhinagar students on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The students of Classes IX and X staged a very appropriate play called “Pehchan“ that represented the children of Saaransh Foundation. The Director of DPS Gandhinagar Mrs Rani Chaudhary, the Principal-in-Charge Mr Kamal Chand and the Head Master Mr Rakesh Kr Bhagat were the dignitaries who graced the occasion with their benign presence.
The beautiful craft work done by the children of Saaransh Foundation were put on display.
